The Moscato grape (Muscat Blanc) is one of Italy's most eager wine ambassadors. Moscato tends to be a popular white wine among new wine lovers and enjoys a significant following with seasoned wine enthusiasts who enjoy a lighter-styled wine with brunch, dessert or on its own as a capable aperitif. This unique wine is often labeled simply as "Moscato" or if it's bred and born in Italy's Northwest region of Piedmont, it's seen sporting its full name of Moscato d'Asti (named after the grape, Moscato, and the Italian town of Asti). Our Moscato fragrance oil is fruity and delicious! Fragrant red grapefruit and pomegranate are laid atop a bed of green apple and fruit blossoms with a delicate finish of smoky musk and the barest hints of rose and geranium. Perfection in a candle or soothing lotion and an absolute joy to smell. Sweet without being overly so, a bit fresh, a bit earthy. Will appeal to both men and women. Would make an excellent shower steamer or body spray as well.

All About IFRA

IFRA guidelines - what does it mean?

Let's discuss IFRA (International Fragrance Association) and what that means for you...

From their website: The IFRA Standards form the basis for the globally accepted and recognized risk management system for the safe use of fragrance ingredients and are part of the IFRA Code of Practice. This is the self-regulating system of the industry, based on risk assessments carried out by an independent Expert Panel.

The Expert Panel is made up of renowned independent experts from the fields such as dermatology, toxicology, pathology and environmental sciences. Their role is to evaluate the data on a fragrance ingredient to see if it supports the current use level, to make sure that there is no risk for the consumer. In cases where the safety assessment does not support the current use, the Panel instructs IFRA to issue a Standard either restricting or banning a material.

We have IFRA on all fragrance oils and flavor oils on our website. Click on the product name and below the description you'll see a set of tabs. IFRA is one of those tabs. You can click on that to see the *max* levels allowed for specific applications.

What do the max levels mean? Let's use Almond Paradise as an example. The IFRA guidelines on this state that there are no restrictions for soaps, shampoos, lotions, etc. So does that mean you can use 100% in your product? No. That would mean your product consists of straight fragrance oil.

The IFRA states the *max* that can be used, not the recommended amount. It is the responsibility of the maker to do their research to see what the recommended usage rate of fragrance oil for their particular recipe is.

For soap, as a general rule of thumb you will use up to 5% of fragrance oil in Cold Process (CP) soap and up to 3% in Melt and Pour (M&P) soap.

So if you see a fragrance oil and the IFRA says 23% for soap, don't use 23%. IFRA is important when it comes to lower numbers. There are a few fragrance oils that have max usage rates that are less than the percentages shown above. In that case, you can only use the max shown for the oil.

Beautiful, delicious scent. Used in a soy candle product. My customers preferred this scent to all the other wine-scented candles.

It does have a light H/C throw in soy but smells amazing. Like the other reviewer mentions, "you can smell the bubbles", she's right! If you're familiar with the wine brand, Cupcake Moscato, smells exactly like it tastes

Advantages: Bubbly, Clean, Refreshing, Wine lovers delight

Disadvantages: It deserves more than a 5 star rating :-)

I use this scent in my melt and pour Spirit Tarot soap, it is perfect! Clean, crisp and you really can "smell" bubbles. If you are familiar with Moscato wine, this scent is exactly that. I've had great feedback on this soap. No change from out of bottle to in soap.

Soaps like a dream. No noticeable acceleration (although I believe that there is a slight amount compared to my control). Did a wonderful swirl and used moscato wine in place of water. Soap came out creamy beige/off white.

This scent is really amazing. Even though there is no lychee in the description I smell lychee in it. Its fruity, clean and sophisiticated. Much like the wine its named after. Very strong after cure. Was a customer favorite.

Advantages: -Soaps Wonderful
-Smells Great
-Fantastic staying power
-Well liked by customers

Disadvantages: -Discolors to barely beige/off white.
