Our Shea Butter Melt and Pour Soap Base by Stephenson is one of the most popular soap bases in the world. Stephenson melt and pour soap base makes handmade soap making a breeze! Shea butter has long been known to be a favorite addition to soap for soap makers. Now there is finally a soap base that contains the Shea butter so you can concentrate on taking your soap to the next level. Like SLS/SLES free soap base, this base is free of surfactants as well as propylene glycol. It contains a full 5% Shea butter content, and is a product that is smooth, creamy, and rich with natural emollient properties. This creates a magnificently creamy, soothing lather which helps make your skin soft and moisturized. This Shea Butter soap base contains glycerin which naturally draws moisture from the air and to your skin and is created using only the highest quality ingredients. Melt & pour soap bases are an ideal way to hand craft your own soap without the extra time, expense and experience needed to make soap "from scratch."

Ingredients: Purified Water, Glycerin, Sodium Palmate, Sodium Palm Kernelate, Sorbitol, Shea Butter (5%), Palm Acid, Palm Kernel Acid, Titanium Dioxide, Pentasodium Pentetate, Tetrasodium Etidronate

Usage: A two pound brick can make between 10 - 20 soaps, depending on the size of the bars you are creating.

Directions: Melt soap base in double boiler or microwave oven. DO NOT let the soap base boil. Add color as desired (but not so much to cause discoloration of the soap bubbles - they must remain clear). Add no more than1/2 ounce of soap fragrance oil per pound of soap base. Pour into soap mold and let rest until solid and cool. Unmold and wrap immediately.

NOTE: When making soaps it is good to remember that the melt & pour bases contain water as part of the formula. If they are left exposed to the atmosphere, the water will evaporate and the bar of soap will shrink. We recommend fully wrapping the entire soap bar as soon as it is poured and cooled to help minimize any shrinkage.
