To make medium shades it only takes .15% to .25%; for pale and pastel shades .1%. One ounce of candle dye flakes will color approx 25-45 lbs. of wax depending on the type wax you use and the desired shade of color. (Candle dye flakes are varied in size and shape. The easiest way to measure them is to crush them up and measure in 1/8 tsp or smaller measuring spoons. If you do not want to crush the candle dye flakes, you can use a scale that measures in grams.)
